Raya shares a name with another Bratz character who was introduced in 2007. Although believed to be the same character by some fans due to their similar appearance, the official Bratz UK Facebook page confirmed in 2015 that she was intended to be an entirely different character. In 2022, Raya (2007) appeared in the video game Bratz Flaunt Your Fashion in which her nickname is revealed to be “Sun Rayz”—this is the same nickname as the other Raya introduced in 2015. Although the Raya introduced in 2007 is considered different than the Raya introduced in 2015, this may have been a way for MGA to retcon Raya’s lore by combining both characters.
