Bio

Howdy! My name is Kiana! My friends call me “Outlaw Diva” because my looks are so good, it should be illegal!

Bratz Series 2 Kiana (2022)

appearances

Kiana debuted in the first edition of the Wild Wild West collection in 2005 and was recycled the following year for the Rodeo/Wild Wild West (Second Edition) collections. It is possible that Kiana was set to appear as part of the Bratz Babyz line as artwork featuring a character close to her in appearance was featured on the Bratz Babyz Wild Wild West fashion pack, but this remains unconfirmed. In 2007, the Bratz Lil’ Angelz website advertised one of its characters as Kiana; however, this was misspelled and was meant to be another Bratz character named Kiani. Kiana was re-introduced in the Series 2 collection in 2022 and made an appearance in the Mini Bratz line the following year.

TRIVIA

MGA decided to withdraw Kiana from the Bratz lineup after competitor Mattel filed a lawsuit for trademark infringement of its Kianna doll from their Teen Trends line. Despite this lawsuit, Kiana was still used the following year in recycled playsets for the Rodeo/Wild Wild West (Second Edition) collection and was featured in the 2012 video game Bratz Fashion Boutique. The nickname “Outlaw Diva” was given to Kiana in 2020 in a “Blind Date” post on the official Bratz social media platforms and was later confirmed in the Series 2 collection.

Kiana’s ethnic and racial background has been debated by some fans as many believe she is Indigenous, while others believe she is Black. It is likely that Kiana can be considered Afro-Indigenous; a 2005 article about Toy Fair 2005 from Bratz World TV states that Kiana is Indigenous (Native American, as stated in the article), while a 2021 post on the Bratz social media accounts implies that she is also Black.
